Many songs aim to capture the feelings experienced in the immediate aftermath of a relationship's demise. Routine, however, takes the long-term approach, looking back from a point in time long after the relationship has ended. In the interim, were personal promises kept and dreams achieved, or did the absence of that inspiring partner lead to a descent into mundanity and, well, routine?
